March saw 129 homes sold, bringing the year-to-date total to 426. That’s 17% fewer sales than this time last year—but before you start sounding the alarm bells, take a deep breath. The median house price is still sitting pretty at $700,000, with just the tiniest 0.1% dip. Yep, you’d need a microscope to spot that change!
While prices may have plateaued for now, the market is still showing plenty of strength. Homes are selling faster, buyer inquiries are on the rise, and inspections are getting busier. So, what does that mean? Not all prices have plateaued—some sellers are still getting fantastic results thanks to smart strategy and timing.
The Election Factor: Should You Hit Pause on Selling?
Ah, election season! A time for campaign promises, sausage sizzles, and… real estate decisions? That’s right—on May 3rd, Australia heads to the polls, and many sellers start wondering: Should I wait until after the election to sell?
